This is so easy. I had to compile StrFry, but once I started, the VM requested Android for a port, which turned into a Notification that I could accept. Then just add the address into Amethyst's local relays and done.

So I can finally get rid of my various terminal apps

The upstream feature is still a developer option and we consider it as such here for now. I think it would be too close to call to consider this production ready, we say in the changelogs that this is highly experimental and work done in VMs should be considered temporary. The project team wants to work on getting this earlier than everyone else likewise.

There's a lot to improve on and implement. Next update will add many changes but there will still be more work to be done. These features and a functional Android Desktop Mode and use of external displays with DisplayPort Alt Mode will have it all come together in the future.

Have you noticed it getting killed in the background? Or does the VM not get affected by Androids process killer?

The VM got killed a few times during compiling. I think Android kills it if this sees too much CPU usage without breaks.

Hopefully the graphene update can help this. Would be nice if you could just carve out resources for the VM.

Wow a real computing device in your pocket. Just need a docking mode where you get a full desktop experience.

amazing

I was expecting to wait months/years for these features. The GrapheneOS devs are going hard though, back porting features from 16 to get it up and running.

You can do docking via the Emulator Views on Android Studio. Just wire-connect the phone, click + on where the emulator tab ("Running Devices") is and click on your Phone :)

I want the phone to be the computer tho

Yeah, there is no passthrough on the VM's graphical interface yet. But GrapheneOS is adding those things up. :)
