My late father worked in construction his whole working life, and in the Texas summers he would always wear long sleeves and a cowboy hat. I always thought that he would be much cooler in a tshirt and shorts. Fast forward to now. Working outside when its 103 degrees, I always wear long sleeves, a wide brimmed sun hat, and depending on what I'm doing, usually long pants. My dad didnt have the fancy ventilated shirts that I wear, nor lightweight summer pants like mine, but I understand why he covered his skin in the heat during work. The extreme heat and sun can be brutal on your skin after hours of exposure, plus you never know what critters will try to bite, sting, or otherwise make you miserable. My father was a wise man. #grownostr #countrylife

The mosquitos are horrendous here while the sun starts to set but I often do the exact opposite of covering up while working outside. We have such a short summer that I always want to soak in what little sun we get. 😁

Where do you get your lightweight clothes?

Sometimes online, sometimes at a resale shop in town.
