I am planning to run a Bitcoin Lightning Node and Nostr Relay. I have studied Raspberry Pi board, it's cheaper, but it needs SD card and external SSD to setup. I don't think Raspberry Pi is stable enough to run 24/7 days.

I have checked umbrel. They have a complete set hardware which its price is around $500. It's interesting. If we compare to raspberry, its price is a bit more higher but we can get a stable hardware (Intel N5105 2.9 GHz Quad-core CPU, RAM 16GB, and 2TB SSD storage).

I would like to check if we can have another alternative hardware which price is more cheaper than umbre.

Have you checked the local computer shops for NUC-like hardware? If you import a computer you may have to pay taxes. That's what happened to me when I imported hardware into Thailand.

I have found a mini PC one but hard disk is only 1 TB. How do you think?

I think that's perfectly fine. Besides, you can upgrade the M2 drive to 2 TB; It shouldn't cost much.

For your lightning node you'll also need a bitcoin core node. The blockchain is currently about 500GB un-pruned and without the transaction index. I'm not sure whether LND needs the transaction index. I know core lightning doesn't need it, but Eclair does. Even with 1 TB you'd still have enough room.

Thank you 😊
