I think the middle ground now is to have an APK installed from a trusted website.

We cannot completely solve the trust problem, but at least we should not send people to the "github release page" which adds up more confusion.

There is no website that Android considers "trusted." It will always warn that you are installing from an unknown source the first time you try to install an app you downloaded through your web-browser.

Sure, but if they are new to Nostr, they don't trust any Nostr related website yet, either.

Well, this should work on people that are at least sold to the idea of trying this thing.

If they are not positively inclined, then they are not intended audience, now.

In the adoption chart, we're looking for early adopters, not early majority.
