I had never seen the phrase "detached house" before had to look it up. As suspected of is just a house.

Is that where the "detached" is a necessary descriptor? Like detached from reality, it's a dream
There's also semi detached (1 shared wall).
I suppose. I just assumed tha like condo or duplex, that a house by itself is understood to be unatched.
