Physicians are already being taught new-medicine, which basically means just prescribing meds for any and all conditions, and treating patients as clients. Pharmaceutical companies are viewed as partners in the important public-private partnership model of socialized healthcare(i.e. fascism).

If you talk to the old guard retirees, you will notice they are either extremely conservative around drugs and avoid most treatments that involve drugs, or completely bonkers about prescribing any dangerous drug out there for anything (these are usually called professors).

New young docs in the hospital mostly ignore patients, leaving residents to take care of those people, while they focus on writing unimportant research papers.

Medicine today should be viewed as an excellent tool to treat acute medical emergencies, but we have completely lost the way when it comes to treating chronic disease.
