I mean, what if they misinterpret the bible? Is God going to come down from heaven to correct their interpretation of what it means to turn the other cheek? Or to explain why he talked with prostitutes?

Atheists especially tend to misinterpret the bible even when it's opened up in front of them. I think the dialogue is good, even if it's not perfect for understanding the finer details of Christianity, at least it can give you an understanding the beliefs of the Christians around you.
