I don't want to say efficiently... but smoother late at night if it's a task I don't want to do. So in the mornings to afternoon I'm just doing tasks I want and then I'll come back and work from 8-2am on really terrible tasks. I think my morning brain is overstimulated and bounces all over the place trying to resist doing the unpleasant tasks but during the night it's just more relaxed.

I remember all night writing sessions in high school being the only reason I passed my college writing class. I'm grabbing some energy drinks later and completely wrecking my sleep schedule tonight

You get like an hour of heightened alertness and then you crash like hell. I really only ever used them for morning exams and they NEVER worked late at night. They just made me exhausted. I have been using coffee around 8 though. I'm sure I'll have a heart attack at some point but that's future me's problem
