Just an observation- I was a little surprised by how many people think that all social media would devolve into 4chan without moderation. I gotta say I disagree. On #Nostr the moderating your feed is up to you, using mutes or blocks.

But I also find it’s just not necessary to do a lot of that “crowd control” in the beginning. Trying out new social apps is always such a joy, especially in the early(ish) days because no one is an influencer yet (except nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m or nostr:npub1sn0wdenkukak0d9dfczzeacvhkrgz92ak56egt7vdgzn8pv2wfqqhrjdv9 lol).

I find people treat each other much more personally and kindly when the platform is still growing because we are more driven by cooperation than competition at this stage. It’s also really nice that anyone can get set up to accept zaps right away, which is basically instant-monetization. Not sure that’s available on any other platform besides OF currently. 🤣

I find people in general reciprocate. To our peril.

Some care about monetizing & others don’t. Truly, I abhor online culture … only on here to change the world.

Love will always guide me. But accepted it won’t make me popular … again, no #fex given. Coddling gets you so far. Then truth talk.

I really do think what we know as “online culture” was a natural human response to these heavily moderated and centralized platforms. It really reinforced the in-group vs out-group dynamics. Like “if I say xyz then I could get banned” is a social fear that was basically entirely created on legacy social media. That’s wild to think about.

I never got online until 2017 … probably. Then it was Reddit & specialized boards.

Didn’t go to Twitter* until 2022 IIRC & was shadow banned from week 3 #onward

Which made me angry. 😠 thought it was worth it but eventually left for almost a year 🤣🤣🤣 Denied all the various blue sky & other SM offers that came at me in 2022.

Last year I decided to return to Tweet mode after healing ❤️‍🩹. A sassy honey trap eventually got me to go to BS which led to here. And wait nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m is the guy who created Twitter …. Curious AF 🤣

#Nostr is nice. But it’s so much more. World Peace & eventuality of universal truths is what it is for me.
