Absolutely mesmerising to watch, thank you for posting. Just out of interest, what was the purpose of sanding down the underside of the saddle?

The gap between the strings and the frets is called the action. Most entry level guitars are set up with a high action. A high action requires more effort (and often strength) to push the strings on to the frets. The lower the action the less distance the strings have to travel. Combine this with adjusting the truss rod which affects the longitudinal shape of the neck as well as the gauge of the strings (extra light, light, medium, heavy) you can influence how “playable” a guitar is. I sanded the bottom of the saddle to lower the action (bring the strings marginally closer to the frets). I haven’t played a steel string guitar for about 10 years so my fingers hurt 😬 Doing all of those tweaks have reduced some of the hurdles I have to jump to play again. Cheers 😀

Very nice. I like your sidecutter trick.

Thanks 😀
