I took the #cat to the vet today. His ear flap was swollen. The vets says the cat has an ear infection and scratching it probably caused a blood vessel to rupture which then filled the ear flap and resulted in the swelling; an "aural haematoma." They cleaned out his ear and drained the fluid from the ear flap. Now the cat wears a no-flap head wrap to keep the ears immobile while healing. Along with antibiotics twice a day. Follow-up in one week.
