Bitcoin can be an idol too

...and too often is, agreed!

How often (even--or especially?--here on #nostr) are people "ascribing unto [bitcoin] such names, attributes, works, and worship, as are proper to God only"? Bitcoin is a "good"--but it is not God.

I've been having an issue with this since Obama. Trump is the same thing but for the right. It honestly really bothers me. In today's world people are looking for heros and positivity to cling to so it's easy to see how it happens. Especially as the church gets further out of relevance for most people

It's everywhere, sadly. And most "Christian churches" have abandoned their charter, "having loved the praise of men more than the praise of God." But a remnant remains.
