However OPEC is The United States primary interest is to Saudi Arabia.

Intelligence programs, keeping a tab on enemies like Iran, western values. You started the conversation off with Iran being an enemy and in general most of the middle east. When did Iran attack the US or any US asset? In fact the only problem Iran ever had with the US is when they promoted the monarch who was under the direct control of the US and UK who had killed the most Iranians ever.

You're going to have to convince me Iran is an immediate threat to the US or even the oil fields. Present your case with evidence, and go.

I agree that The United States intervention in The Middle East has caused problems there, however the damage is done now, and it is best to maintain key partnerships with the countries that benefit us.

While I agree that puppet leaders are unideal, it's better to choose leaders that are aligned with us, and it's unfortunate Iran overcorrected, and hated us as a result of poor leadership but the fact is they hate The U.S. now, so until that changes we need to support countries that will limit them from causing us real harm.
