If your mother is retarded and does retarded stuff that may impact the unborn child, the mother is knowingly taking a risk hoping it does not have any effect on the unborn and BELIEVING there is a religion called "science". Science is however not the popular vote, or a believe. It's a method to question reality, not the answer to everyting. Most of the time the outcome of scientific research is wrong, but closer to what we understand to be reality, until proven wrong again.
