Ok, I have now read through the entire https://pubky.org/ page.

Every inquisitive person should do so.

For now #pubky feels very organised and well prepared and hope for more one-click installers that are easier to use than Nostr relays.

I like Nostr a lot, but have always been on the lookout for the weak points that OrangedMike has always emphasised.

I don't really care which technology prevails in which way. In the end, it will have to be proven where the best measures were in place in the event of censorship attacks.

I'm a simple user who wants to try everything and won't mince my words to comment on how the installation experience was or what pain in the arse it is or why I think my privacy is in danger (with Nostr, it is risky if you use it wrong.)

And let's be honest, how often do we uninstall an app and switch to something new because it's just better designed (backend/frontend)? This can also happen to Nostr. It always has been and always will be.

You choose the best money once, but an app for communication and data? Why should that be set in stone?

PKDNS can probably support websocket links, either already or with minimal tweaking. Currently it depends on DNS, which is a weakpoint.

It's the ability to host anything you would use DNS for, without requiring DNS or any central server. That's a big fucking deal.

If you use a pkdns server you can use my WoT relay with the URL ws://xiqz1bc7xmiw9kz8n8j6epbwnww59nibd9f7175cwd1jz6kmcdko/

Your client should support ws:// but with Amethyst no problem.

I run a pkdns DNS on: 66.78.40.76

Put this IP into custom DNS of my Mullvad VPN and voila it works.

The pkarr domain can be resolved.

So in my opinion it's a easy setup.

I'll consider it, got setup work to do first. I only found out about this an hour ago.

If a one-click installer could be put together that would allow current nostr relay operators rapid deployment for their relays with little to no downtime, that could critical rate adoption. Got a lot to think about, testing, etc.

Definitely incorrect to say "every inquisitive person should read through the entire" link when it doesn't even load without javascript.

It's bad enough how nostr requires javascript for every web client made so far. At least if I'm posting a link "every inquisitive person should read" about nostr, that doesn't need javascript.

They also use platforms like Discord and Telegram, which might not align with my preferences, but I can ignore that since it's unrelated to the main topic.

An individual’s actions or appearance shouldn't be a reason to dismiss their contributions entirely.
