On my personal computer, I input my mnemonic while using chantools to recover funds. At one point, I used the copy function.

This is not my cold storage, rather the mnemonic for my LND node.

It felt awful inputting the seed phrase, but it had to be done. And the copy function was used at one point when I was struggling through the UTXO purgatory hell.

Any thoughts on this? How paranoid should I be?

Congrats!

I see no problem with that. The seed is used only to decrypt your wallet locally. Nothing goes outside.

When I use chaintools, I usually construct all the commands first into a text file, carefully selecting the commands and input data.

So will not be errors when is executed.

Chaintools is a life saving tool, I wonder when we will have it integrated into more LND frontends like Zeus, Blixt, Thunderhub, Breez etc for easy recovery by the user.

Chantools saved me.

Glad to hear.

If running windows, that seed is dead lol. Otherwise fine :)
