A stem is just one of the sounds or samples that make up a track of music - think of a guitar riff, a vocal or a bass line. We've got a group of us working hard on bringing it to life and are shooting for a beta in March for an initial group of early access nostriches!

Super cool! Looking forward to seeing it.

🎉

I don’t know how yet but this sounds like something that could be used in very unorthodox ways 🤔

Do tell!

Maybe like attach it to ChatGPT somehow and ask it to rearrange songs as it sees fit

Hmmm - that's a really curious idea! It'll be open source, so contribute to it or fork it to do something really wild!

“Gupert, turn this song into heavy metal with an orchestra and give me the score” 😂

Hmmm... for me, when (for example) I'm mastering from stems, or exporiting stems for a live shows, it's more like:

bass (all the tracks that function as a bass)

drums (all the drums tracks)

keys

synths

strings

guitars

backvocals

vocals

bagpipes (all the bagpipes of the world one can fit into a track)

....

but often it's just bass, drums, guitars, vocals, the rest

Share them all!!! 🤙

church organs

choir

accordions

kalimbas (all the kalimbas one can fit in the session)

...

...

and of course more cowbell

Kalimbas! More of those please!!

I'm sorry, your social score doesn't allow for more kalimbas in this project.
