Are there any 🇦🇹 Austrian Nostriches? My friend from Austria is interested in Bitcoin. We are now preparing to do his first KYC registration. Would you recommend Relai or Swan Bitcoin? Or anything else?

I would love to introduce him to p2p trading soon but to be honest - it’s not the easiest and possibly safest way for a nocoiner to do.

you are doing him a disservice and i hope nobody helps you

I understand your stance.

I just don’t think, that in real life - when you have actually very limited time given by the attention span of a regular human being to disclose everything.

So you need to choose on what aspects of Bitcoin you’ll focus.

Buying p2p (which for me IS NOT to send a tracable wire transfer to a person I do not know) is still a big enough of a hurdle on the road to loose a nocoiner otherwise willing to listen.

If you need to get him trough kyc vs no-kyc, explaining fees (on-chain and/or for a partner), that it’s better to meet in person and exchange cash, how to make sure he’s not getting scammed, mempool,… to a lot of people it just feels a bit sketchy at best.

Whereas when you tell him to send 500€ via SEPA to a trusted company, it’s ok and you can focus on a different areas.

Everyone can become anarchocapitalist down the road I think.

For me it’s crucial to get them off zero as sesmlessly as possible. Does that make sence or am I still your enemy?

Probably nostr:npub1sqzr42dj8vx32yd5jcvvl3ytux45kl0etgf6y2ymjvmd7lqmuwmqk9vk7v and DCA in - (Dollar Cost Average) to keep the KYC ”soft”.

As regards p2p.... you can be his counterparty 🤝

I know, right. But for me - one and only true p2p is cash and he is 600 km away.

I am not able to find him reliable p2p partner in Austria on my own. At least not in “no time” while he is still interested.

I don't think Swan is in Austria. Relai doesn't need KYC yet, they still keep records from your IBAN, but they will soon have to due to MiCA legislation so I wouldn't bother. Tell him to avoid any big names, especially if they have a licence in Austria.

Easiest P2P would be nostr:npub15369wu3wzzar5fclhecyqfv683x69n6nhlg7rxqnsg2dydgxflpq3apswl or Vexl. I would start with one of them.

I have Relations in Austria. would be curious to see where your journey goes. I get that question sometimes too.

Robosats

I would also recommend p2p even if it takes longer, but I totally understand the kyc impulse. I've nearly given up on p2p for family because for many of them it's just too big a hurdle.

For local bitcoiners in Austria, have you looked into the einundzwanzig network?

Below ⬇️ is notes I wrote from a video that someone did … crap 💩 whoever that was … that video helped me a lot

For KYC River

Sorry didn’t read Austria. Strike will be there soon. There real good.
