It reminds me of the days when most people had to work for the folks that owned the factory or “means of production” nearby so they were stuck. Then tech came along and gave more folks their own garage “factory” only to be sucked right back into a new factory that didn’t even make anything tangible for society, it just set up a “matrix” trap that makes it increasingly hard to escape - they’re like the mob protection racket, you wouldn’t want any to happen to you data now right? Ok I’m babbling 😀
