Ok, so, What is Fed independence supposed to mean, and Independence of who😄.

First of all, they are not self-existent, they are appointed by the elected leaders, they are answerable to the appointing authorities.😄.

And Powell is not a naive and innocent guy in the room, his recent idiocy and politically motivated move is that, he unnecessarily cut rate just before the presidential election, to save his job or whatever. So, Fed independence is meaningless.😄.

Fed's primary role is to control inflation, that can be achieved only through keeping the interest rate high and leave it there, like Paul Volcker did.😄.

But the existence of Fed keep the temptation among people that money grows on trees like tree leaves, and you can't end that temptation without completely shutting down the Fed,😄☕🎈👍.
