Hello Marxists. We're Libertarians here. Deal with it.
This is for everyone arriving from #reddit.
1. welcome home
2. add a lightening address to your profile. Perhaps Alby for web user, WalletOfSatoshi for mobile users
3. tags work well on nostr. Say hi and #reddit your note.
4. not your nsec, not your nostr. backup your keys!
5. don't miss tomorrow's #Zapathon π
6. memes are fun, #foodstr is better
7. At the bottom of this note you'll find some links to some good sites to get you started. I know nostr can be confusing at first (been there myself) but once you grasp the beauty of #NIPs and simplicity of building apps natively supporting each other you'll be blown away and you'll here to stay.
8. have fun, stack notes and zap sats.
9. It's don't let anyone tell you it's "the nostr" π€£
10. Don't miss my stream tomorrow on #ZapStream and AMA nostr! (shameless plug)

but, we're all purple.
My experience with Lemmy (reddit clone) was that it was primarily inhabited by reds. I assume it's the same on Reddit proper but admittedly I don't know. My experience with Reddit itself is minimal. I hope that the arrivals from Reddit can become purple. In approximately one week on Lemmy, just for expressing conservative opinions, I was banned from one instance and one user attempted to dox me, encouraging other users to harass me with emails and phone calls. That's why I use an anonymous identity here. I have found the harassment on nostr to be very minimal. I hope that does not change with the arrival of Reddit users. If I'm being too paranoid, please forgive me. Please understand that my previous bad experience causes me to be concerned.
I doubt this will change. reddit, X, facebook it doesn't really matter here on nostr. There will be always people you can get along with and others you wont. For everything else there is the mute button and the self-moderation of the content you want to see or not see on nostr. As nostr grows you'll automatically start more users, bots, spams and scams. I guess it's the nature of growth.
But you're right after almost one year the toxicity on nostr is still minimal to other social media sites and imo the content is also much better than on most sites.
Oh hey Collectivist anarchist here, you're cool. To hang here
