There are Ryanair flights from Ireland to Poland that are like , a fiver or some shit . It is more expensive to take the bus to the airport. I don't understand what the business model is there to be honest .

They need to fly a certain amounts to keep their slots at the airports. So even if the airplane is empty they will still fly.
