Replying to satoshi jr

I'm sure the economic realities don't really align for it either. In was thinking more that in very secure systems that can't fail like an airplane I think they have a physical security backup never just software. So its not an unknown problem in engineering.

People who really believe otherwise are just the people with just enough knowledge to be dangerous, probably me

Yes and no. I’ve only worked in the purely software world where failure does not risk safety and there is definitely an element of economic calculation to do, but most times it’s severely under invested in, even when the business is doing well.
