I just finished reading Malatesta's "Anarchy" little booklet, this demonstrates quite well, how power tends to corrupt individuals, leading to abuse and oppression.

And how governmental structures are problematic at their core.

He proposes that society can be organized through voluntary cooperation, mutual aid, and direct democracy without the need for a centralized state.

Malatesta was particularly critical of how governments claim to represent people's interests while actually serving the interests of the powerful - economic elites, bureaucrats, and those with existing privileges.

Which is painfully felt at this time again.

And this book is from 1891

Power may corrupt some people but the truth is actually that the corrupt people are the ones who seek out positions of power.

🇨🇭 is a great example for direct democracy
