The state and the large corporations are two sides of the same coin.
i am actually very critical of "the state", and the things it does and doesn't do. but i don't get the desire to cede one's wellbeing to vested and powerful interests that are focused on maximising profit in the short-term above anything else
The two seemingly polar opposites are just an illusion to keep the plebs arguing and pitted ideologically when in reality the state is doing all of its bidding either through policy or through private enterprise. They’ll gauge public opinion and depending on which way the wind blows they’ll pick the public or private route.
State sponsors private enterprise research and development and reaps the rewards under the guise of free market capitalism. The revolving doors ensure everyone is in line, while everyone is confused about their true role in the system.
yeah i think the elephant in the room is corruption
Everyone is bought and sold. The two party system controls the media and ensures the grassroots candidates never make it. And the few cases where they have, their power is very limited in terms of actual influence on policy outcomes (maybe with the exception of Lincoln - who happened to be assassinated).
It’s all a giant shitshow and to point fingers at any direction is a waste of time.
