This is just an RMTP server to stream live video through Zap.stream and Amethyst without paying 10 sats per minute haha.

Relay is extremely easy to run from a VPS!

Full node is a bit more difficult, it'll eat a lot of bandwidth and if you wanna use it as a backend for say Mempool you can't prune it either so you'd need at least 1TB storage.

Then you have the security aspects to consider when you run a full node on a VPS. I'm fairly good at locking Linux servers down but I'm not sure I'd trust a full node I set up running off a VPS.

TL;DR: Relays are very easy to setup on $5 VPS's but full nodes are both more resource intensive and more sensitive security wise. I'd wait until you're able to run your node from your own hardware personally.

Thanks! We’ll see if and when I do something, as of now I keep a simple web server running only :-)

Been in the command line since 98, BASIC and such before that. I know that todays stacks are great, but also can’t stand all the automation haha… I like building what I run up from a clean install on Debian, this last one is Rocky Linux actually
