Question for all of you, what is the best way to verify military status in a decentralized manner without the user having to provide KYC info? Is this possible?

The use case would be for a Bitcoin related company to provide a discount to veterans for its products but don’t want to have it be abused by those who haven’t served.

Some potential ideas that come to mind are zero knowledge proofs (ZPK) or some sort of decentralized identifier (DIDs) but not super technical.

Hhhmmm... I don't see how that would be possible without uploading, at least, part of our service record. It would have to be KYC to some degree, no? 🤔

Yea. I was thinking there could be some level of trust between the company and users if they just wanted to see a doc that just mentioned veteran status with the info redacted and then the company would delete it after verifying but could be subject to forgery.
