Montanus, a priest, and Maxima, his wife, faced persecution during Diocletian's reign for their unwavering faith. When ordered to offer sacrifices to pagan gods, they refused steadfastly, declaring their devotion to Christ. They endured severe beatings and tortures, yet their resolve remained unbroken. Eventually, they were drowned at Singidunum (modern Belgrade) for their steadfast commitment.

O Martyrs Montanus and Maxima, pray that we may be granted the strength to stand firm in our beliefs, and inspire others to embrace the true faith.
