Here’s a glimpse into my morning routine:

- Wake up around 7am

- Step outside to ground myself, stretch, and soak in the sun

- Cold shower to wake up the body / mind

- Only after all this do I turn on any devices

That last part, #4, has been a game-changer for me. Just like I practice 12-hour food fasting, I’ve found that a “tech fast” is just as important. I shut off my phone at 8pm and don’t turn it back on until after 8am, or once I’ve completed my morning routine.

Taking a break from screens in the evening and starting the day without them has been incredibly refreshing. I highly recommend giving it a try.

The cold showers aren’t just for the physical benefits. They train you to embrace challenging situations head-on. Stepping into that cold each morning conditions your mind to handle stress differently. It teaches you that stressful situations are often a mindset and can be overcome by facing them directly. The cold teaches resilience.
