Have had a HORRIBLE experience with nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 - Hit with a forced close less than a week in. 500k stuck in a “pending close” channel FOR A MONTH.
Team seems to have spent a lot of time on flashy graphic design but NONE on contingencies / resources to guide the user through the unique trade offs of self custody lightning (which can be new even to experienced bitcoiners).
BIG 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

I have friend. Been emailing Evan back and forth for a month. I’ve refrained from expressing the extent of my frustration publicly for a month.
As I’ve told Evan, I very much want this and other lightning applications to succeed. I am a non-technical bitcoiner, I focus on consumer applications and help those around me who are orders of magnitude less technical than me get onboarded. But when I encounter a bitcoin consumer product that I cant make heads or tail of, I know it’s gunna be real real hard for others. I am always willing to give the benefit of the doubt because I have, at least the basic context of the complexities here, but others will not - nor will they have any sense of their ignorance.
And since I have your attention, here’s my suggestion. On the doc site perhaps under “Using Zeus” you need a section like “Don’t See Your Sats? Dont Worry!” or “Understanding Force Closures”. This routes to its own clear, thorough and comprehensive explainer page, INCLUDING video and/or UX screen shot guides / steps that walks the user through their options if they’ve experienced a force close.
If this does already exist somewhere then it is not properly positioned in the UX path, because I haven’t been able to find it.
