You ever tried boiling in order to render tallow. More mild process but you have an added step of simmering afterwards to remove all water after the pour off
Real men practice sovereign, animal-fat based skin care. Lamb tallow beard lotion.

4lbs 7oz of fat from the 2 grass fed rams we took to the butcher yielded 2lbs 5oz of lamb tallow. Half to cook with and half for lotions and salves. #permaculture

No, but I've heard of it, when you say mild what do you mean?
Basically, it doesn’t burn the fat as it renders it… Giving you a cleaner batch. I’ve only done it twice, so I’m no expert… I just like how it’s worked for me so far.
Oooooooh this sounds like something I want to try. If you have a guide you used for a first time, that'd be helpful
I don’t unfortunately. I forget where learned to do it. But you basically just cover the fat in water. It’s a little tricky, pouring the oil off the top of water, but it can be done carefully… There will always be a little droplets of water in your tallow that you rendered. Just make sure to simmer that afterwards for a good while. Water leftover in your tallow can lead to rancidity apparently

It’s possible that the yield isn’t as high, but you could do two runs… First one with water for skincare, and then the remaining fat without water for cooking tallow
