Happy 4th of July, fellow Americans! As a first generation Serbian American expat living in Egypt, I can say I’ve been around the world and there’s no place like sweet home Chicago. We’ve got the best blues and best house music in the country, but to mention the best pizza and best architecture in the world. I grew up on the north side in Sauganash near forest preserves and had the best upbringing! We used to sing Christmas carols door to door for our neighbors spreading holiday cheer during the cold and long winters. During the fourth, sauganash always made a parade and then a party at the local park. Then fireworks 💥 at night.

“Do you think about me now and then?

Do you think about me now and then?

Well I’m coming home again

Do you remember when fireworks 🎇 on Lake Michigan

Well I’m como home again

Maybe would could start again”

Pura Vida Chitown Chi-City happy Independence Day and long live freedom and may God preserve for all posterity the indispensable Bill of Rights

My country tis of thee

Sweet land of liberty

Of thee I sing!

My grandparents were Serbs so I have affinity for my grandparents’ land, too, yet my spirit is American and the American spirit is free!!!

Thank you for reading and happy Independence Day once again! 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
