Listening is as important as speaking, if not more important.
We might think sometimes that we know what the other is saying, and it is incorrect, and it would be faster if we just tell the correct solution, so we just interrupt the words of the other.
This might be true, but might not be. They may need something else.
If we hear first out the full story of the other, we might be able to give the right answer to the other that he needs.
We shall make a difference between the "correct answer" and the "correct answer the other needs".
If we answer "our" correct answer fast, not the information the other is seeking, we do not make the discussion faster, but even we delayed it, because the other has to explain again.
