I bet most people don’t think of inflation as a form of taxation. It doesn’t even occur to them. It’s the norm - it’s how things are.

If they realized this is just another tax, they’d be more outraged (I hope).

Taxes are to keep us from saving and inflation is to devalue what we can save.
