Study the Bible one book at a time.
Read a chapter. Think about it. Reread with study notes, then think about it again. When the book is done, pause and go watch a lecture about the book. Then think about it again.

Genesis. Breaking in the new study bible.
I'm only absorbing 1-2 chapters a day, so Genesis will take 20+ days.
I think trying to force a book in a week drastically reduces retention.
Should be a slow enough pace to think over each chapter for hours.
