I listened to “Basic Economics” by Thomas Sowell almost a decade ago now. As I observe the wars and conflicts around the world. The fiscal situations in western and other countries. The struggles of Canadians to live a decent life and be able to have the basic dream like owning a home. The exponential homelessness and mental health issues. I still to this day remember the line he repeats throughout the book…
“Economics is about the allocation of resources that are scarce and have alternative uses”
When you truly embrace and understand this. You see it everywhere. How it dictates everything we do individually, nationally and globally.
America CANNOT supply arms, war welfare, and global security to everyone around the world. It’s just not economically possible or sustainable. They are only going to be forced more and more to pick and choose.
Nothing is free. In order for us to have and maintain first world advanced societies. We need smart hard working people. Who don’t just take but give to society. Forever and always.
