Space is definitely expanding (we know this with universal redshift), uniformity in CMBs is definitely an indication. Also general observations from telescopes, ages of oldest stars, point to a similar “age of the universe”.

Apart from this I don’t know. If there’s a better theory out there tomorrow that explains these things I would not be averse to it.
