I was trying to say that it may be difficult to make Bitcoin illegal without breaching constitutionally protected rights and freedoms in the EU. I am not being Pollyannaish here, I know that politics may tread laws. Still, this would have to mean a change of legal paradigm in the EU.

Maybe they end up saying: it’s totally legal… you can have as much as you want with you.. but only in KyC whitelisted addresses :)

Yep, they may bring such a law and it may slow down or - idk - maybe even speed up the adoption 😄. In any event it would be extremely difficult or even impossible to enforce. We would still be able to pay each other and create circular economies. Plus for privacy we now have LN and Chaumian cash.
