Thanks for putting this out there. The knee jerk reaction for many to go to knots is a little fast. Seeing 992 volunteers in Core vs Knots containing only Luke makes the latter vulnerable to be co-opted. The Dictator's Handbook: Why Bad Behavior is Almost Always Good Politics goes into pit falls that would befall Luke/Knots.

I now agree its not better for out of band txs to make it into blocks and distort every node's fee estimation and view of the mempool.
Also, the history of repeatedly raising the limit was an eye opener
