Read _A New Theory of Human Evolution_ by Sir Arthur Keith (the basic idea of which has been universally accepted by science) and you will learn that the unit of evolution has never been the individual, but always the group. Humans are a social species; we naturally cleave together in social groups -- and we absolutely need those organized groups to survive. Therefore promoting total individualism among your people does little more than disarm your people and ensure that they will disappear from the face of the Earth. Most people instinctively understand this truth, but European-descended people seem to have forgotten it.
