No, I don't have nearly enough sheep to need a herding dog. I have a karakachan livestock guardian dog who thinks she can herd but often ends up taking the sheep to the wrong place.

I only ask as we struggle to get our sheep to go where we want them, sometimes shaking the "treat" can works, sometimes not.

The only time we have trouble with them following a bucket of alfalfa pellets is long moves like this while they have day old lambs. Otherwise, they pretty much follow wherever.
