Let's say I put on clothes and makeup so as to appear significantly younger or older than I am.

I don't plan on having advantages because of it, but I do want others to be mislead into thinking I'm a different age when they look at me.

Is that immoral? Why or why not?

Why would it be?

I'm not arguing it is, I'm interested in the prospective of others.

You would be trying to mislead others by purposefully misrepresenting one trait of yourself.

That's opsec

drag

Is this supposed to be an analogy to drag shows?

In the case of drag, you're not really trying to have others believe something false about you. The audience knows what's going on and it's part of the show.

It depends on the goal. If you're trying to deceive them for something else. it could be interpreted by that person as bad.

Is this a means to some other end or is this an end by itself?

End: you just want to look younger

Means: you want to look older because you want elderly benefits

There is no secondary goal like that of elderly benefits, but there is full intention of being deceitful so that others actually believe that you are a different age.

You're good then. By the way, are you reversing your age? Pass on some tips if so. ;)

It's not something I actually plan to do myself. I just wanted to hear people's moral opinion about it.

I also don't need age reversing, I was born in 1996.

I would say no. Just like putting on nice clothes to be better looking then you might perceive yourself to be isn’t immoral, in my mind. Or to be preferring long sleeved shirts because of a scar on your arm wouldn’t be immoral.

Thank you for your comment.

I will follow you back, by the way.

In short. You want to mislead others, as you write. I strongly think misleading others is immoral.

Thank you for your answer!

(To be clear, this is just an hypothetical scenario, I don't plan to do this, but I wanted to see what people think about this morally).

I understood it that way. It's a good question and would be interesting to see more and different replies to it. Hopefully more will come.
