Is there a way to clone an npubs follow list? Would jump start newb user experience right away. #asknostr
Discussion
When I started (with Prime), one of the steps in setting up my profile was a big follow list (all checked off already) of what I assume were recommended follows (turns out they were the all caps-ers and loudest people who think they're important but don't add much IMO) and I unchecked them all because no one fucking tells me who to follow.
Not a helpful comment, I know. Just spewing my opinion that no one cares about, all over the place today.
This is a really neat tool. However, starting someone with the same relays as another nostrich could be counter-productive. For instance, I am currently using a paid relay that a new user would not have access to without paying, which they may not want to do if they aren't yet sure if they want to stick around. I am also using a WoT relay that they MAY have access to, if the WoT goes that many levels deep, but only after I follow their new npub. And I am using a couple private relays that only I or those I have whitelisted can post to, so I would need to whitelist their new npub before they could access it.
Back when everyone was just using public relays it was probably a great idea to make sure they had the same relay setup, but those days are coming to a close, and it's not as necessary, now that more clients are adopting the outbox model.
I’d probably also use this to back up or fork my npub follows
Bluesky has starter packs. Would be a good idea for a dev to port them over here!
Good idea. Up voting w zaps⚡️⚡️⚡️
