Yes, I do think so. Of course, I’m talking about so called western world mostly. When I was 20, I was basically kicked out of my parents house and that was normal. Today I see thirty-something married couples with baby living with their parents - and it’s totally fine...

I felt like I was raking care of my parents more than the other way around. I am curious how much of that is just the times vs. My particular story. I do feel it is harder for young people to get started these days.

Taking care of your parents is an honorable thing to do. ✌🏻

Now I do not. My father passed when I was younger. And my mother and I haven't really ever felt connected. There is a lot of painful history between us. Sometimes I feel some guilt for not trying to be part of her life but it kind of feels like it just isn't in the cards for us. I tried for many years. Without getting into the particulars, I don't feel she ever cared for me much and so I have a hard time wanting to care for her. Not a tragedy or anything, just a story. I feel like I am meant to disconnect from my ancestors in order to grow. In general I do feel like taking care of your parents would be the honorable thing though. Maybe it will change for us. 🤷

Sorry Dave. I didn‘t mean to make anyone feel uncomfortable. I guess every family story is unique and I should have specified what I meant by that claim.
