My husband went out and harvested a bunch more wild mustang grapes. He cooked them down, and made a thick syrup, no sugar added. So i got the idea to try a few spoonfuls of the syrup in some bubbly mineral water, and added a few drops of stevia. I love this stuff!! It has a little bit of the pulp in it, which i love, and it makes a nice little mocktail. #foodstr #grownostr #foraging

Most of the Roman Aristocracy carried this around as a sweetener. But the trend became boiling it down in lead lined pots, since the result was sweeter. All those murals with the Roman ruling class with dark circles and sunken eyes were likely from low level chronic lead poisoning.

Ooh, i had never read about that. I just know this method of enjoying the grapes is a keeper.
