Singapore police could restrict scam victims from accessing bank accounts under proposed law.

Yes, there are a lot of scams around, and some people lose a lot of money to them, but I don’t think giving the police or government the power to decide what is a scam and block bank accounts is the right solution.

It's Singapore, where a clique of corrupt insiders are convinced that, and have convinced the population that, a "benevolent", economy-focused tyranny and an extreme Nanny State are the only way to prosperity (and to protect the Chinese majority from becoming tyrannized by a potential Malay Muslim majority as in Malaysia and Indonesia).
