If someone has access to any persons hww and time to tamper with it unmonitored, does it matter which device it is? I'd be infinitely more worried about the attacker being in my house.
With enough time and resources, every device is crackable, which is why statelessness is the most sane approach. And I guess NVK agrees because it's now a feature of the new CC. Also CC is called a signing device now on the Coinkite website, I wonder who coined that term? Right, the project he has been funding non stop for a year now.
Before SeedSigner came around, I stored my corn on a USB stick with encrypted persistent Tails partition and electrum because the thought of a corporate device for bitcoin felt wrong to me.
I bought two Coldcards (Mk2) because they were top of the line back then. A friend is still using one of them. I didn't continue to use mine because inserting sd cards with tx data into a desktop PC gives me PTSD as a former sysadmin. No point in being a win sysadmin if the whole OS is backdoored.
I guess I was a natural fit for SeedSigner and instantly felln in love with it. But I never felt the need to tell the world why I don't like the ColdCard's approach.
