This process was easier than I thought it would be.
Still trying to figure out how to verify the boot key hash and not sure how important that is to do so.
After that I need to figure out how to add apps for:
-Bitcoin wallet
-Mullvad VPN (already have account)
-Meshtastic
-Signal
-Nostr client
-Maps
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am very new to this OS. (specifically today)

Obtanium for installing apps from github/f-droid. As for apps, bluewallet, Zeus, Molly(signal), amethyst(nostr), organic maps(osm). tasks[.org].

No account needed. From github you can install the Obtanium .apk from the releases section. Valdium(browser) doesn't all installs, so you will be prompted to enable that. Once obtanium is installed, it gets a little easier because you can search and keep a list of the apps and perform updates and such, but really all it is doing is giving you a way to manage downloading and install ing apks from the various sources it supports. The settings in obtanium will seem confusing. "Usually" you can ignore most of them, but occasionally if you want to get specific about versions or prelease installs and such it lets you tweak it.
And please ask away, it can be an up hill battle at first. I came from iOS as well but am technical, and even still I found myself craving the ease of iOS. Don't get discouraged, its worth it.

The OS came with a browser called Vanadium. It works but should I use the one you recommend?

Oh I just mispelled it. Vanadium, I use that. My browser needs on a phone are pretty minimal. I did use Mull for a bit based on Firefox. Try em out, figure out works for you.
My only suggestion is be careful how much trust you place in the OS. Devs harassed me on here for calling out their bullshit when I was still in constant panic about Digit, they did this over mastodon bridges to manipulate the thread instead of actually using nostr, and they never once said they hoped Digit was alive (luckily she was) https://video.nostr.build/315abb03b242d2e94756edcbb2437ef47c948e51dc82eae7f9341494578206cf.webm
Ok thanks for the input. Like I said I’m new to this and have no idea about the Digit situation or what mastodon bridges are. I just want a phone that doesn’t spy on me. Again I do appreciate the heads up🤙
I do still think Graphene should subject you to less spying than stock Android 🤙
