Replying to Avatar rabble

Does anybody know the tradeoffs between saltpack.org and keys.pub? Both are by people who worked on keybase... Are they complimentary projects? keys.pub seems to reference saltpack and support it, but saltpack seems folks on its salty.im chat client.
