it seems nip-26 has so many detractors that no one wants to implement it or support it 😕

does it have any obvious issues or shortcomings?

seems like we are building a bunch of apps on top of nostr without solving fundamental key management, security and UX issues first. i'm guilty of that too so focusing on shilling/implementing NIP-26 and NIP-46 where i can.

(btw, writing what I promised today now that finished the talk last night 😅)

I think the current incarnation of nip-26 is kinda horrible tbh, I tried to make changes to make it suck less but didn't find consensus and my PR got bikeshed into oblivion 🤷‍♂️

100% agree.

The first boost has been good to spread the protocol, now we have to consolidate the fundamentals to permit others to build on a solid best practices.
